Highlights of the EFL Championships so far

The EFL Championship 23/24 season is in full swing and Preston North End FC has come out with guns blazing. They are currently sitting on 19 points with no losses and one draw. They have won all their previous five games.

Ipswich and Leicester City are close behind with 18 points, so it will be an exciting fight until the finals in May 2024. What makes the EFL championship journey interesting is that teams fighting get the £170 million promotion to the Premier League- not just lifting the EFL silverware.

Even though the season has just begun, some memorable scores, sensational goals and impressive skills have been displayed. It's difficult to predict who will win this season. There are some good EFL Championship tips all over the net, but approach those cautiously.

The highlights

Preston North End FC has an incredible winning streak with six wins and one draw from seven games. It ‘s still early in the season, so Ryan Lowe's boys must dig deep to stay at the top of the table. Leicester and Ipswich are close behind with only a point difference.

On the 23rd, they face Rotherham, who will be looking to collect the maximum points and move up from their 21st ranking. If Milutin Osmajic brings the same magic he had against Birmingham City, then Rotherham is in for a hard time.

The Sunderland vs Southampton game has given one of the biggest wins so far this season. Ekwah gave an outstanding performance, scoring two of the five goals. The opening goal was scored within the first minute.

The header from sixteen-year-old Chris Rigg in the 95th minute ended a beautifully started game for Sunderland. Southampton was outclassed by a more assertive and determined Sunderland side, ending their unbeaten streak in a spectacular fashion.

The opening match Wednesday between Sheffield and Southampton was an appropriate way to kick off the season. Southampton dominated the game in ball possession with 23 attempts at goal.

Southampton vs Norwich's goal wonder was something to watch; both teams scored four goals. Adam Armstrong scored two penalties and assisted one other goal, he's going to keep goalies and defenders busy this season.

Lastly

The EFL Championships are incredibly tight this year, and teams have come out to establish dominance early on in the season. But we all know being at the leaderboard at the start of the season is no guarantee of a win. It would be prudent for the top teams to watch those at the bottom of the board. Like Watford, Leeds and Blackburn Rovers can easily make it into that elusive top six.
